Paying your bill
Your Energy Savings Account can only be used at MidAmerican. Besides that, it works like any other bank account. You can use it to pay online, by phone, or in person. You just need your routing number and account number.
Your account number
Routing number — the same for every Ascentra member:
Account number — yours alone. Find it in Ascentra online banking or the Ascentra app. Checking your balance shows you where.

Paying MidAmerican online, step by step
Check your Energy Savings Account balance before making a payment. If you pay more than what's in your account, the payment will fail.
Paying part from each place? Make two separate payments on the same day — one from your Energy Savings Account, one from your own bank.

Use the same account you use to see your bill. Open the MidAmerican sign-in page.
Never signed in before? Choose Register and use the account number printed on your bill.

Find where you add a bank account

Type in your account numbers
The routing number and your account number.
Name it something you will recognise, like “Energy Savings Account”, so you never mix it up with your own bank.

Pick your Energy Savings Account when you go to pay
Choose the account you named in step 3, then submit your payment. When you use your Energy Savings Account to make a partial payment, MidAmerican will show you your remaining balance.

Paying by phone or in person
You can also pay by calling MidAmerican, or at the payment kiosk in Project NOW's lobby. The steps are the same either way: you give your account numbers and say how much of your bill you want to pay.
By phone
Call MidAmerican at and follow the prompts to make a payment. Their payment options page lists every way to pay.
At Project NOW
The kiosk in our lobby at 1830 2nd Avenue, Rock Island. . Staff can show you the first time.
TO CONFIRM before publishing this section: whether the phone line and the kiosk can each take a bank account, and whether they originate ACH under MidAmerican's own company ID. See item A in PLACEHOLDERS.txt. A channel that has not passed a live test should be removed from this page, not published with a caveat.
